Historically, twice a year via The Listening Post @382 Main Street  in Vancouver’s DTES, a small group of members and volunteers head to Rivendell for a 5 day silent retreat. A time of quiet contemplation, healing, and growth.

Hosted by a volunteer Christian community, rooted in the gospel values of Jesus and the practiced traditions of prayer, silence, simplicity and hospitality.

Rivendell offers a welcome to small groups and individuals who are seeking spiritual renewal, respite and growth, and is accessible to people with limited resources and special needs.

THE RIVENDELL LODGE is a four storey building.

The main floor has a prayer room,meeting room, well equipped kitchen, lounge and dining room with a large two-sided stone fireplace.

The second floor has 10 rooms with tubs and/or showers: 4 with queen size beds and 6 with twin beds, 2 with wheelchair access. The third floor includes 2 twin bedrooms with showers and 6 single rooms with tubs and/or showers.
Bed linen and towels are provided.

RIVENDELL, as a living sanctuary, is a welcoming ecological facility where guests are invited to be custodians of their own living spaces and common areas, cooperating in the practices of recycling and conservation of energy as well as following general guidelines for community living and cleaning.
